Alex Summers, younger sibling of Cyclops, has always lived in his brother's shadow. Even when he was leading X-Factor, Alex still felt the pressure to fill his brother's shoes. During his time with X-Factor he was believed dead following an explosion in which he was transported to an alternate reality. Now in his native world once again, it remains to be seen how he has been affected by recent changes.

Lorna Dane is the mutant mistress of magnetism, able to create and manipulate magnetic fields. Once believing herself to be the daughter of Magneto, she has been a member of the X-Men, where she met her first true love, Havok. They would both later leave to help form a new X-Factor team. She has recently returned to the X-Men.

Professor Charles Francis Xavier has dedicated his life to fighting for peaceful coexistence between man and mutant. To aid in this crusade, he established the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters to secretly train young mutants in the use of their powers and the X-Men were born. An incredibly powerful telepath, Professor X can read the thoughts of others, impose his will upon someone else's mind, and even erase one's memory.

A founding member of the X-Men, Bobby Drake has the ability to spontaneously freeze the moisture in the air, as well as turning his body into solid ice. He has also served as a Champion, a Defender, and on the original lineup of X-Factor. After spending some time away, the Iceman has returned to the X-Men with a new commitment to the dream of Xavier.

Once working with the Hellfire Club Emma Frost saw her group of Hellions killed by the evil mutant Fitzroy. She fell into a coma and revived when a electric surge switched her mind with that of Robert Drake, Ice Man. Professor X returned her to her real body and sensed in her the real desire to change. To help her in that task, he made her the task of teaching the next group of his students, those known as Generation X.

Monet St. Croix was born into the luxury of Algerian wealth, her status complimenting her mutant abilities of strength, flight, beauty, intelligence, and many other various powers. A former member of the student team Generation X, she now serves as a member of the reformed X-Men.

Little is known about the X-Man whose past remains shrouded in mystery - save that it is fraught with pain and loss. Also called Logan, he is genetically endowed with animal-keen senses of smell, sight and hearing - as well as a healing factor that mends almost any wound quickly, and even retards his aging. However along with these gifts comes a curse - a berserker rage which he must forever struggle to control. His deadliest weapons are his razor sharp, extendible claws.

Born and raised in London, Jonothon Starsmore is cursed by his frightening appearance, which is the result of the first manifestation of his mutant ability when telekinetic energy literally erupted out of him. His only means of communication is the capacity to project his thoughts into the consciousness of others.

Danielle Moonstar was an original member of the New Mutants, and is a former agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and member of X-Force. She has the  psionic ability to pull thoughts and memories from people's minds, which she commonly manifests physically in the form of arrows. Dani has joined the X-Men as a reserve member at the request of Charles Xavier.
