Natalia Alianovna Romanova: Once a Soviet Spy, Natalia defected to the United States, and became a hero. The Widow's heroism is equalled only by her supreme agility and Widow's Bite which fires an electrostatic charge. She was the former lover of Daredevil and the leader of the Avengers before they died during Onslaught's assault on New York. She has now returned to the life of an espionage agent.

T’Challa, Son of T’Chaka and King of all the Wakandas: T'Challa is a scientific genius whose physical abilities are developed to peak human levels (due in part to his mystical connection with the Wakandan panther god.) He is a phenomenally formidable unarmed combatant whose unique fighting style incorporates a variety of martial arts and animal mimicry. T'Challa's senses are highly acute, in particular his eyesight, night vision and sense of smell; he is also an expert hunter and tracker. After the loss of the Avengers and Fantastic Four, he is dedicating himself to ruling his nation.

Nick Fury: A veteran of World War 2 in which he served with the Howling Commandos, Fury often fought the Axis forces alongside the Sentinel of Liberty - Captain America and his youthful partner Bucky Barnes.

Ever since becoming the Juggernaut Cain Marko, the Step-Brother of Charles Xavier, has found himself in conflict with not only the X-Men but also teams like the Avengers. Now with many of the heroes gone, Cain is seizing his chance to stop running and gain a pardon for his crimes by working with SHIELD.

Sharon Carter: As the SHIELD operative designated Agent 13, Sharon has preformed many highly dangerous covert missions, several of which she was partnered with Captain America. Sharon was sent by Nick Fury on a covert mission, and was lost behind enemy lines. Upon her "return to life" many months later, Sharon settled her resentment toward Fury and took on freelance agent status to retain her access to SHIELD resources and technology. Now after the death of Captain America, Sharon has resumed full agent status and is the head of SHIELD's super-human task-force.

Marc Spector: A former Mercenary, Marc Spector was betrayed by his partner while on a mission in Egypt. Spector was carried to shelter by adherents of an ancient Egyptian religion, but it was apparently too late to save his life. For nearly a minute, Spector lay dead before the statue of Khonshu, the Egyptian god of the moon, before his heart miraculously began to beat again. After several false identities and a crisis of faith in his deity, Marc Spector has returned to the role of Moon Knight and works freelance for various peacekeeping agencies, including SHIELD.

Scott Lang: When his daughter's life was in danger from a heart condition, Lang sought the aid of the famous physician Dr. Erica Sondheim but discovered she was being held prisoner at Cross Technological Enterprises. Lang broke into the home of Dr. Henry Pym and stole his Ant-Man uniform and shrinking gas. After rescuing Dr. Sondheim, who saved the life of his daughter, Scott went to turn himself in for stealing the Ant-Man costume but Pym allowed him to keep the costume as long as continued putting it to lawful use. An associate of both the Fantastic Four and Avengers, Scott now works for SHIELD.
