Thor was the son of Odin, mightiest of the Norse gods. A staunch champion of both his home realm of Asgard and Midgard (the Gods' term for Earth), Thor served as an Avenger for many years.

Thor was lost in the terrible battle with Onslaught, along with many other heroes.

Jake Olson is an EMS technician and a firm believer that one man can make a difference. When the mysterious Marnot gives him possession of two powerful artifacts (a belt of strength and an Uru hammer), Jake gains the ability to transform himself into a facsimile of Thor, the Norse God of Thunder. 

Jake's dual identity causes him great pain and stress but he refuses to give in to his doubts. For better or worse, he is one of Earth's most powerful beings at present and he must be up to the task ahead of him.

Hannah Fairmont is Jake Olson's fiancé and his closest confidante. Since Jake began keeping secrets from her, she's sensed that there is a widening gulf between them and this frightens her. Her daughter Amanda is far from being Jake's biggest fan.

Marnot true identity and purpose remain a mystery. Responsible for Jake Olson's transformation into Thor, Marnot appears to be aware of activities going on far beyond the mortal realm. His connection to Asgard and the Dark Gods who have lain waste to it are unclear.
